We will work with you to ensure that the desired key is not too far off so that the arrangement will still sound great. As our arrangements are the result of meticulous work to make them sound as good as possible, we wish to have control over the chosen key, as transposing into keys that are too far apart would make the arrangement too low or too high, to the detriment of the musical quality. As our music sheets have fingering to make it easier for you to play, this becomes invalid if you change key and often interferes with the legibility of the notes that have been transposed. A full sheet of Royal paper measures 42 x 60 centimetres and a single untrimmed folio leaf measures 42 x 30 cm. The 42-line Bible was printed on the size of paper known as 'Royal'. Some sections, however, had as few as four leaves or as many as 12 leaves. Typically, five of these folded sheets (10 leaves, or 20 printed pages) were combined to a single physical section, called a quinternion, that could then be bound into a book. After printing the paper was folded once to the size of a single page. The paper size is 'double folio', with two pages printed on each side (four pages per sheet). The production process: Das Werk der Bücher įirst page of the first volume: the epistle of St Jerome to Paulinus from the University of Texas copy. Scholars today think that examination of surviving copies suggests that somewhere between 160 and 185 copies were printed, with about three-quarters on paper and the others on vellum. It is not known how many copies were printed, with the 1455 letter citing sources for both 158 and 180 copies. In March 1455, the future Pope Pius II wrote that he had seen pages from the Gutenberg Bible, being displayed to promote the edition, in Frankfurt. The most reliable information about the Bible's date comes from a letter. Consequently, there are two distinct settings in folios 1–32 and 129–158 of volume I and folios 1–16 and 162 of volume II. The new sheets were all reset to 42 lines per page. Finally, the print run was increased, necessitating resetting those pages which had already been printed. The increase in line number was achieved by decreasing the interline spacing, rather than increasing the printed area of the page. has 41, and from there on the 42 lines appear. Therefore, pages 1 to 9 and pages 256 to 265, presumably the first ones printed, have 40 lines each. Some time later, after more sheets had been printed, the number of lines per page was increased from 40 to 42, presumably to save paper. Gutenberg made three significant changes during the printing process. The first precisely datable printing is Gutenberg's 31-line Indulgence which is known to already exist on 22 October 1454. It is not known exactly how long the Bible took to print. Preparation of the Bible probably began soon after 1450, and the first finished copies were available in 1454 or 1455. ![]() While it is unlikely that any of Gutenberg's early publications would bear his name, the initial expense of press equipment and materials and of the work to be done before the Bible was ready for sale suggests that he may have started with more lucrative texts, including several religious documents, a German poem, and some editions of Aelius Donatus's Ars Minor, a popular Latin grammar school book. It is mainly the work of St Jerome who began his work on the translation in 380 AD, with emendations from the Parisian Bible tradition, and further divergences. Sure, such a DJ may step up and “do some DJing”, but that’s only part of what he or she would want from a DJ program. Instead, it’s designed for the “DJ one man band” – the kind of entertainer who as I said in the intro may be conducting a karaoke evening, or providing the music at a kids’ party, or playing a wedding, or a providing video DJing at a sports bar, or compering a company corporate party. Sure, you can mix on it (it has waveforms, BPM analysis, tempo lock, sync buttons, cues, loops etc), but that’s not its reason for existence. This is “entertainment software” as much as it is “DJ software” in the sense of club DJing, or “mixing DJing”, if you like. UltraMixer 5S Pro Entertain knows its market. In Use The twin playlist view is unique to UltraMixer, and will help busy DJ/entertainers to blur the line between mixing themselves and having the software do it for them. Once we’re up and running, the program has an idiosyncratic feel to it compared to other DJ software, and looks dated (for instance, on the Mac, it doesn’t have Retina graphics, and feels curiously like a very early version of Traktor), but see past the less-than-lovely GUI and you realise it’s very configurable, with thoughtful touches like splitting out the music database into its own window (so you could pull it to a second monitor in an installation set-up, for instance) and the ability to display various elements in different places. You can buy a licence at any time from within the app. You’ll almost definitely want the latter, as it’s the only one that works with Midi controllers, for a start. Once past this hurdle, you are into a free trial (needs a reboot every hour), and get to choose whether you want to trial the “Home”, “Basic” or “Pro Entertain” version. On our Mac, we were asked to install a legacy version of the Java Runtime Environment in addition, which is unnecessarily clunky and will panic the less tech-savvy, and ought not be necessary with modern software. ![]() You download the version that suits your system (PC/Mac, with a choice of 32-bit or 64-bit architecture), and follow an installation process. However, Bula Williams then banished him from her home. Williams' mother seemed unsure about her story, claiming McClure was "sensitive" and felt sympathetic towards him when he admitted his guilt. She was terrified to tell anyone about the incident and waited two years before finally revealing the truth to her parents. Esther recounted in her autobiography that one night, when the rest of the family was visiting relatives in Alhambra, McClure raped her. McClure had recently lost his mother and Bula was still grieving over the death of her son, Stanton. In 1935, Bula Myrtle Williams invited 16-year-old Buddy McClure to live with her family. Louis Williams purchased a small piece of land in the southwest area of town and had a small house built there. Esther's brother, Stanton (September 4, 1912 – March 3, 1929) was discovered by actress Marjorie Rambeau, which led to the family (including sisters Maurine and June, and brother David) moving to the Los Angeles area to be near the studios. However, they ran out of money in Salt Lake City, Utah, and settled there. In 1952, Williams appeared in her only biographical role, as Australian swimming star Annette Kellerman in Million Dollar Mermaid, which went on to become her nickname while she was at MGM. After appearing in several small roles, and alongside Mickey Rooney in an Andy Hardy film and future five-time co-star Van Johnson in A Guy Named Joe, Williams made a series of films in the 1940s and early 1950s known as "aquamusicals", which featured elaborate performances with synchronised swimming and diving.Įvery year from 1945 to 1949, Williams had at least one film among the 20 highest-grossing films of the year.
